Society has been brainwashed into believing that success and status are measured by what we have and what we own. This myth has turned the economy into a ponzi scheme creating over consumption and waste that if continues unchecked will cause the economy to bleed the planet to death.
The top 1% and the policy makers perpetuate this myth because they are the ones who are most invested in runaway ecomonic growth. They need us to behave and obey like good sheep so their share of the pie will grow in perpetuity. The truth is they use advertising to brainwash us into being consuming machines; also overconsuming sugar, alcohol, drugs and tv so we are too numb to see how much wool is pulled over our eyes. We are too numb to see how busy we are just to make ends meet. We are too busy to think for ourselves, question our purpose in life and contemplate what we really need in order to be happy. We are too busy for creativity, to properly feed ourselves and care for our children, and too busy to keep our immune systems strong. They want us busy and numb so we don't heal our individual and collective traumas. This is what the top 1% and policy makers fear the most.
The survival of life on this planets depends on humanity healing our individual and collective trauma so we can wake up to the reality that we are being enslaved by these greedy monsters. Greed has clogged their arteries and hardened their hearts. Greed has made them blind to their destructive actions on planet Earth. Are they exploring Mars as a potential home for themselves as they squeeze every last ounce of life out of this planet and humanity?
The mistake humans make is that we look outside of ourselves for someone to blame or save us? A president, a God, a policy maker, the economy...and they use this to keep us divided and separated so their myth can continue. But if we look inside ourselves and begin to heal the trauma we suffered, no matter how seemingly benign, and begin to heal the trauma our ancestors suffered and passed down from generation to generation, the numbness will subside and we will begin to feel our pain and wake up to the truth. We will need to come together in community to support each other through this process and then we can come together in Oneness to create a new story for our economy based on Prosperity and Abundance, not of stuff or possessions, but on values money can't buy. An economy based on Love and Peace, on Kindness and Joy, on Pleasure and deep sighs, and on Generousity of Spirit and Attention. We need a new story for humanity, we need the Next Renaissance.
